Can Nintendo wii use PS games, and using Wii to play dvds?
I’ve just bought a nintendo wii…I’ve heard other nintendo console game can be played on it, but I was wondering if different gaming consoles, like playstation, games would work? Also, I’ve done a bit of research on using the Wii as a DVD player…Has anyone downloaded the program to do this, and how well does it work? Some of the websites say it can be dangerous to the wii, but others don’t mention any danger.

Nintendo Wii can only play Wii and GameCube game discs. NOTHING ELSE.

People who can play other game discs or DVDs have modded their Wiis and yes it will ruin your Wii. Just look at some of the questions people post here with modded Wiis who are having a world of problems. If you want to watch DVDs, use a DVD player. They can be found new for as low as $40. YOu want to play Playstaion games? Buy a PS2 for $99. But please, be smart and don’t try to use your Wii to do so.

Hello, i have never been one for games consoles but the idea of giving my wife a beating at boxing sounded good. So, I purchased a Wii. Now, what i want to know is can i play any other nintendo console games on it? (cant be bothered searching)

You can play wii game discs as well as gamecube game discs on the Wii.
You also have the possibility to buy a Wii points card at a retail store or online to purchase "virtual console games" on the Wii’s "Wii Shop Channel" (requires your Wii to be hooked to the internet). Those games are stored on your Wii and aren’t transferable to another Wii console. Some of them require a "classic controller (sold separately)" or gamecube controller to be played.

A NES game is 500 points, a Super Nintendo game is 800 points and a Nintendo 64 game is 1000 points. Genesis games are also available for 800 points and turbografx games can be purchased for 600 points.

You CANNOT play GameBoy or DS games on the Wii.
