Would you be for a universal video game console where Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony work together?
Imagine Link, Ratchet and Clank and Master Chief all on one universal console. Could it happen? Would you like it to happen??
While I wouldn’t mind not having to shell out the cash for 3 consoles to play all the games I want to play… no. I wouldn’t want a universal console. Competition is healthy for the game industry.
Take the Wii, for example. It started the whole-body interactivity thing, and now both Sony and Microsoft are jumping into that mix (with some pretty cool looking stuff, judging by this year’s E3… which we likely would never have seen if they weren’t trying to out-do Nintendo). Or, going back even farther… do you really think we would have had Sonic if Sega hadn’t been in desperate need of an iconic character capable of competing with Mario?
Plus, with a universal console, you run the risk of games leaning too much to one side or the other. Wii has become synonymous with casual gamers, while (with the exception of a few key titles) leaving hardcore gamers and social gamers largely out in the cold. 360 has almost nothing to offer the casual market, and PS3 is actively catering to both hardcore gamers and social gamers (i.e. Home). With a universal console you MIGHT end up with a mix of all three, but you could just as easily end up with the Uber-Wii, or something, depending on what they decide is more profitable.
And what happens if the universal console turns out to be an economic flop, like the DreamCast? The industry would have put all their eggs in one basket, and it could take years to recover from it. Smaller developers would likely never recover, and end up going out of business (heck even Sega was pretty shaky for awhile after the whole DreamCast thing, and they were a major player for years on both the hardware AND software side of things).

is their much demand in renting video game consoles? ps3, Nintendo wii, etc?
I don’t think so, most places won’t even do it anymore. I’ve asked a few places about PS3s in the past and I think Blockbuster was the only place that had one and you had to put a deposit down on the system which severely limits who CAN rent them at all. It might not have been Blockbuster but there was only one place I found.
What should i get to have a old nintendo collection?
OK for some reason, i really want those old nintendo game consoles like nes snes and n64, but i dont know how to start. Where should i buy the consoles and what games should i get? i dont want to pay 80 dollars for harvest moon. just classic games like metroid or f zero.
well… if you have a Wii then you can just go onto the virtual console and purchase all of the best old school games out there for really cheap…
but if you really want the authentic oldschool feeling, and wanna buy the real deal, like the nes, snes,or N64… used game stores are really great to look at…
also, ebay and amazon.com have really great games, consoles, and packages to choose from… just make sure you read the fine print…
when buying old consoles, you have to make sure they work properly and that you’re not getting ripped off…so my best advice is READ THE FINE PRINT and know what you are purchasing… if somebody on ebay writes "buy at your own risk" you probably shouldn’t buy the console…
from personal experience, local (used) gamestores are the absolute best for buying the classics like nes/snes… but gamestops alot of times have N64 games, and sometimes even the consoles..

Resistance 2 on the PS3 Games Console
Resistance 2 on the PS3 transports players across the Atlantic to a besieged 1950s America where it builds on Fall of Manâ??s legacy. With Resistance 2 there will be bigger battles than previous, spectacular landscapes and an even more gripping narrative told from Haleâ??s perspective – alongside an unprecedented online eight-player co-operative mode in which players meet to tackle specially-designed campaigns together.
Â
The Resistance 2 story continues to unfurl with protagonist Sergeant Nathan Hale. Having destroyed the London command centre of the invading alien Chimera, Hale returns to the United States where he becomes part of a special programme known as the Sentinels – a secret weapon against the Chimera assault that the US government knows is imminent. When the Chimera launch a full-scale aerial assault on both coasts, Hale and the Sentinels find themselves in the forefront of the counter-attack.
Â
Resistance 2 on the Playstation 3 in multiplayer modes are also set to make a huge impact in the gaming world, making this game really stand out from the previous Resistance game by really adding to online gaming. The Co-operative play in Resistance 2, where players team up to tackle a campaign, can often feel constrained in levels designed for single players. Not so with Resistance 2, where squads can undertake a fully independent online campaign built specifically for co-operative play – a feature that demonstrates developer Insomniac Gamesâ?? commitment to improving the experience of online gaming. The large scale battles are combined with levels that are designed to be slightly different each time you play take hold of the game. Up to eight players can join forces to face the Chimera together while choosing from three distinct class types. Players can also look forward to vast 60-person online battles in which players join squads with distinct battlefield objectives and fight it out on PLAYSTATION Network. The great combination of squad objectives and the large player-count will give Resistance 2 the perfect blend of epic battlefield chaos and intimate close-quarters combat to suit any fan of shooter action games on the Playstation 3.
