What’s the difference between the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo DS Lite consoles?
I want to buy a portable video game console, and I was told that the Nintendo DS is one of the best available. However, when I got to the store I saw the DS lite there as well. What’s the difference between the two consoles? Which one is best? Thanks!
The ds lite is the newer one. I have a ds lite and i’ve used a regular ds before. In my opinion the ds lite looks nicer (sleeker) and is more comfortable to use since it’s literally lighter. I’m not sure if there is a difference in graphics, but if there is i would assume the ds lite has better one as it is the newer one. Also the new ds internet card, which gives the ds capability to browse the internet, I think is only compatible with the newer ds lite.
I’m not sure which is cheaper, but i don’t think you can get a new ds original, just a refurbished one.

Is the Nintendo Wii the only game console that enables virtual gaming?
That probably sounds like a stupid question, but I really don’t know that much about video gaming and game consoles.
My husband keeps saying that the Playstation 3 has virtual gaming abilities, but I’ve never heard that.
If you’re talking about playing games with a motion sensing controller, then yes the Wii really is the only way to go.
The PS3 controller also has some motion sensing capabilities, but they are far more limited than those of the Wii and are not likely to be supported in a meaningful way by the majority of its games.
Extra note:
When Nintendo talked about the Wii having a virtual console, they were referring to it’s ability to emulate games from other Nintendo (and Sega, etc.) consoles (such as the NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Sega Genesis, etc.)
The Playstation 3 will be able to play almost all Playstation and Playstation 2 games.
The Xbox 360 supports a limited number of previous generation Xbox games but can also play quite a few games from the last couple of decades (these need to be downloaded through the Xbox 360’s on-line service though).
